Sustainability, transparency, and conscious action
Responsibility begins with the selection of materials and does not end with the completion of a garment. SACberlin pursues the goal of making fashion as transparent, durable, and resource-efficient as possible.
A special focus is placed on the traceable origin of all materials used. The latex used comes from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia and is sourced through established European specialist retailers such as Radical Rubber and 4DRubber. Fabrics and textiles originate primarily from Germany, Italy, France, and England. Zippers are sourced from German manufacturers, including Heiligenstädter Reißverschlüsse. Metallic components such as eyelets, rivets, and other accessories are purchased via specialized wholesalers in Germany and consist of high-quality, rust-proof, and nickel-free materials.
Regarding adhesives, cleaners, and other auxiliary materials, we also ensure the use of approved products available in Germany, applied in accordance with applicable regulations. Residual materials and empty containers are professionally disposed of via the Berlin city cleaning service (BSR) to minimize environmental impact.
SACberlin places great value on transparent supply chains and prefers partners who adhere to social and environmental standards. Child labor and exploitative production conditions are strictly rejected. Furthermore, materials are utilized as fully as possible to reduce waste, and repair and upcycling offers extend the life cycle of existing products. Our own products can be repaired at preferential rates; items from other brands can also be repaired and reworked upon request.
Shipping of materials and finished products is handled primarily via DHL and DHL Express. Through conscious ordering, efficient production processes, and durable construction, S-A-C berlin pursues the goal of keeping its ecological footprint as small as possible.
Sustainability is not an add-on, but an integral part of every design decision.
