SUPPORTING PARTNERS

PARTNERS & PARTNERSHIPS
Together instead of sponsored

PRICE TAG was not developed with the idea of finding as many sponsors as possible.
PRICE TAG was developed with the idea of finding the right partners.

There is a decisive difference between a sponsorship and a partnership. A sponsorship often ends with an invoice, a logo, and a service in return. A partnership begins with a shared conviction.

That is precisely why the focus of PRICE TAG was not on asking for money.
It was on asking for people.
For companies.
For institutions.
For artists.
For cultural workers who are prepared to believe in an idea.

Retail in transition
The search for partners took place at a time when retail, consumption, and society are fundamentally changing.

For decades, the central message of many companies was:
More choice.
More products.
More consumption.
More growth.

Today, it is becoming increasingly clear that this model is reaching its limits.
Generation Z, in particular, shops differently than the generations before them.
They question products.
They question brands.
They question origin, quality, and sustainability.

At the same time, a generation is growing up that either consumes very consciously or shops in an extremely price-oriented manner. Between high-quality products and ultra-cheap offers from online retail, classic middle ground is increasingly disappearing.

This is changing the entire market.

And it is also changing the opportunities for companies to support cultural projects and events.

The example of Douglas
An interesting example of this change is Douglas.

For many years, Douglas was a symbol of growth, range expansion, and an ever-increasing shift of sales processes to digital channels.

Today, the company—like many other retail companies—is facing the challenge of having to serve brick-and-mortar retail, online retail, price comparison portals, and the customers' expectation for ever-lower prices simultaneously.

The question:
“But it costs less online—can you match the price?”

has long since become part of everyday life.
Not just at Douglas.
But in retail as a whole.

The consequences are shrinking margins, increasing competitive pressure, and the permanent challenge of remaining economically successful while staying attractive to customers.

PRICE TAG does not understand this development as a criticism of individual companies.
But rather as an example of how much our society has changed.

The right people
The support from the fields of art, culture, music, and the creative industries was particularly impressive for the PRICE TAG team.

People who did not ask first:
“What do we get out of it?”
But rather:
“How can we help?”

One example of this is the collaboration with the venue's art collective, as well as two newly won friends, Hannibal and Soli.

The financial perspective was not the priority.
Instead, it was the conviction that good projects need to be made visible.
This attitude runs through many of PRICE TAG's partnerships.
It shows that culture is at its strongest when people believe in something together.

Partnership means responsibility
A good partnership is not created by a contract.

It is created by trust.
By reliability.
By communication.
And by mutual respect.
Many partners support PRICE TAG financially.
Others provide knowledge.
Still others open doors, arrange contacts, or provide infrastructure.
Every contribution counts.
Every contribution makes the project stronger.
And that is precisely why we do not view our partners as sponsors.

But rather as part of the project.

What we have learned
The most important realization from PRICE TAG is:

People do not support projects.
People support people.
An idea alone is not enough.
Only when trust is established does the willingness to build something together also emerge.

You can learn more about our experiences in finding partners, the challenges of modern-day retail, and a young generation's view on business, culture, and responsibility in our interview with fashion design student Anna.

In it, a 22-year-old student addresses exactly the questions that concern many young creatives today:
Why has trust become so difficult?
Why do companies react differently to cultural projects?
And how can one still succeed in finding partners who don't just give money, but believe in a shared vision?
Because that is exactly what PRICE TAG is about.
Not about sponsorship.
But about partnership.
